UNSW Experience Engineering Day allows students to experience the innovative and creative ways that engineers solve real-world challenges.
High school students in years 10 and 11 are invited to choose an engineering theme that includes three interactive hands-on workshops at UNSW Kensington campus. These workshops give students a taste of the extensive range of engineering disciplines and careers available to them. Throughout the day, students have the opportunity to speak to academic staff and current students to find out more about the various engineering degrees and opportunities on offer at one of Australia's leading Universities.
Engineering themes on offer:
- Humanitarian: Engineering is a career that allows your ideas to help people at scale around the world. Find out how your ideas can help support the well-being and welfare of people in disadvantaged circumstances.
- Outdoor: Do you like working outdoors and in environments that are unlike those experienced by any other profession? Find out how engineering can take you there.
- The Big Three: Explore the classic three largest branches of engineering to discover a wide range of applications and careers.
- Energy: Every day we use energy from many different sources. Explore how this energy is generated and transmitted.
- Resources: The world around us uses a huge range of material and resources to build and maintain. Find out what type of engineering is used to extract and process these materials.
- Digital Health: Engineers help medical professionals use advanced technologies to save lives. Find out how engineers are involved in emerging technologies within the healthcare industry.
- Explore Engineering: New to the world of engineering? Choose this option to explore three different engineering workshops and learn something new.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
When registering, please choose ONE preferred Engineering theme. Each theme will include three workshops.

All students must be registered individually. Registrations close Sunday, 19 May or once places are filled. Workshops are subject to availability and will close when at full capacity. Register promptly to secure your preferred choice.
